Korea Aerospace Research Institute

The Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI; Korean: 한국항공우주연구원; Hanja: 韓國航空宇宙研究院; RR: Hanguk Hanggong Uju Yeonguweon), established in 1989, is the aeronautics and space agency of South Korea. Its main laboratories are located in Daejeon, in the Daedeok Science Town. KARI's vision is to continue building upon indigenous launch capabilities, strengthen national safety and public service, industrialize satellite information and applications technology, explore the Moon, and develop environmentally-friendly and highly-efficient cutting-edge aircraft and core aerospace technology. Current projects include the KSLV-2 launcher. Past projects include the 1999 Arirang-1 satellite. The agency was founded in 1989. Prior to South Korea's entry into the Institute for Advanced Engineering (IAE) in 1992, it focused primarily on aerospace technology. As of May 2024, KARI is an affiliated research institute of the Korea AeroSpace Administration.

      How to contribute?

      All informations on all locations and organizations presented on the map can be edited by anyone via Wikidata, Wikipedia and OpenStreetMap websites. The only thing which is not possible to be edited by anyone is which organization and places are displayed on this map. Such selection is made by myself in order to filter and strengthen data.

      However once a location or organization is on the map, most of its data can be edited via links which can be found at the bottom of the left bar. Modifications are automatically integrated at a regular time (once per week).

      Here is a list of those attributes which can be edited:

      Description
      On its Wikipedia page, edit first paragraphs (those before any heading).
      Logo
      On its Wikidata page, add/update a statement P154 (Logo image). If multiple logo has been associated to an organization, use P580 (Start time) and P582 (End time) qualifiers to organize them in time. Please only submit SVG files. Don't forget to specify a reference.
      Website
      On its Wikidata page, add/update statement P856 (Official website). Don't forget to specify a reference.
      Employees
      On its Wikidata page, add a P1128 (Employees) statement for each year where you have a number of employees in the organization together with a P585 (Point in time) qualifier if known. Don't forget to specify a reference.
      Subsidiary of
      On its Wikidata page, add/update a statement P749 (Subsidiary of) per parent organization together with a P1107 (Proportion) qualifier if known. Don't forget to specify a reference.
      Categorie(s)
      On its Wikidata page, add/update statements P31 (Instance of) with the type of organization it is (there may be more than one value). Prefer accurate statements (e.g. "nonprofit organization") instead of generic statements (e.g. "organization"). Don't forget to specify a reference.
      Subsidiarie(s)
      On its Wikidata page, add/update a statement P355 (Subsidiary) per subsidiary. Don't forget to specify a reference.
      Locations
      It is not yet possible to add/remove locations.
      Products
      On its Wikidata page, add/update a statements P1056 (Product or material produced) per product. Don't forget to specify a reference.
      Social networks
      On its Wikidata page, add/update statement P3267 (Flickr ID), P2003 (Instagram Username), P2013 (Facebook ID), P2002 (Twitter Username), P2397 (Youtube Channel ID)... Don't forget to specify a reference.
